A Humble Rose

This oil painting is of a pink-tinged rose from my own backyard. At first glance, there is not much symbolism intended here. I simply wanted to capture the softness of the petals against the bright green background and the way light plays across a flower that I see almost daily.

Still, roses carry meaning whether we put it there or not. They often symbolize love, growth, and the fleeting nature of beauty. For me, this rose became less about grand metaphor and more about presence—taking something familiar and seeing it with a fresh eye. In that sense, it represents the simple act of noticing, which might be one of the purest forms of creativity.
